Shakira got medal from French politician for her contribution in the world of music. At the ceremony of awards in Cannes pop singer got a big attention.
The French Minister of Culture and Communication attached the medal on her chest.
The 34 year old singer was wearing white and black mini dress.
After receiving the medal she went to NRJ Award of Honour at weekend.
Shakira took the attention in good way at the ceremony to select the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts ET des Lettres for her contribution to music.
The star was looking decent in a pleated skirt, waistcoat and black knee-high boots as she came to accept the honour in the ceremony at the Majestic Hotel in Cannes.
Her parents were with her when she accepted the medal from Mitterrand and after having it on her chest she looked nicer.
At the glitzy award show Shakir was with Justin Bieber, Seal, LMFAO and Johnny Hallyday.
She was named as the recipient of the NRJ Award of Honour for her 22years I the eld of music.
She thanked for the love and said that she has been always connected with France and was happy.
Another announcement was made earlier this month that Shakira would be given the honour for her contribution to music.
The honour came two months after Shakira released a cover of French song Je l’aime à mourir – after previously singing in her native Spanish and English.
Previous recipients of the Chevalier honour include Kylie Minogue, Tim Burton, Vanessa Paradis, Jude Law and George Clooney.
